In the shooting death of 29-year-old black man Jacob Blake in Kenosha, Wisconsin, white police officer Rusten Sheskey has been cleared by U.S. prosecutors. It is my decision now… Kenosha District Attorney Michael Graveley said that no Kenosha police officer will be charged in this case with a crime.
Sheskey shot Blake in the back 7 times, paralyzing him.
The decision reveals that there are “three justice systems” in America: “One for black and brown people, one for police officers and one for the rest of America,” B’Ivory Lamarr, a lawyer for the Blake family, said. Lamarr said the battle for justice will continue: we will not stop until there is truly one nation with justice and liberty for all of us under God.
