In a now-deleted tweet sent as protestors stormed the U.S. The eldest daughter and presidential advisor, Democratic headquarters, said, “American patriots – any breach of security or disrespect for our law enforcement is unacceptable. The violence must stop immediately. Ivanka Trump has not tweeted yet. Journalist Jake Sherman condemned Trump’s use of the word “patriots” from inside the beleaguered Capitol building. “American patriots?” I’m in lockdown sitting here. They stormed the Capitol and people drew their weapons. What do you talk about? “White House correspondent April Ryan said she was “complicit” in the violence that hit the Capitol, while Ivanka was depicted as the “voice of reason” advising her father. We were always told that @IvankaTrump would be her father’s “voice of reason.”

Others pointed to the deletion of the tweet by Trump as confirmation that it was unacceptable. Eric Columbus, a former U.S. Department of Homeland Security special assistant, called on Ivanka and Donald Trump to avoid the abuse. Go over to the office of your father and tell him to go on TV and tell everybody to go home. Scream at him before he does.

The Twitter account of Donald Trump has been suspended “for repeated and grave violations of our Civic Integrity Policy.” His account – the primary tool for engaging with supporters – will be blocked for 12 hours after the offending tweets have been removed.

His account will remain suspended if he refuses to remove them, and any breaches could result in a permanent suspension. The account will stay suspended if the tweets are not deleted. The Twitter Safety account said that future breaches of Twitter rules, including our democratic integrity policy or violent attacks, would result in a permanent suspension of the @realDonaldTrump account.
