Greggs is giving away 10,000 free sausage rolls to students – here’s how to get one

GREGGS is giving away 10,000 free sausage rolls to students – we explain how to get one.

The deal is through discount website Student Beans as part of its “Freshers Wheel”.

But as you have to spin the wheel to get a prize, you’re not guaranteed the Greggs freebie.

You may instead land on offers including 20% off an Acer Chromebook at Currys PC World or a £5 voucher for Boohoo.

In total, there are eight different deals you can end up with, as well as an option to have another spin.

This means you’ve got a one in nine chance of landing on a free Greggs sausage roll.

You can also choose a vegan roll if you don’t eat meat.

Both a sausage roll and vegan roll typically cost around £1.05 although prices do vary between locations.

The “Freshers Wheel” is open until October 9 and if you do land on Greggs, you’ll have until October 31 to redeem your baked good.

To get your sausage roll, you’ll need to be signed up to Student Beans.

As its name suggests, only students can sign up – and you’ll need to prove this when registering by using a university email address. It’s free to register.

As well as presenting your Student Beans membership card in Greggs, you’ll need to show your “Freshers Wheel” discount code.

This offer can’t be redeemed if you’re ordering Greggs for home delivery through Just Eat.

Greggs temporarily closed all stores on March 24 as the coronavirus lockdown restrictions came into force.

We’ve asked how many stores are now open once again, and what times they’re operating under, and we’ll update this article.

In the meantime, you can use the Greggs online store finder tool to see if your nearest branch is open.

Greggs is no stranger to student freebies.

The baked goods giant gave away 100,000 sausage rolls last year through Student Beans.

The Sun has revealed how to claim a free treat if you had a birthday during lockdown, including at Greggs.

For more discounts, these are the chains that have extended Eat Out to Help Out offers into September.
