Cubs OF Heyward (hamstring) out multiple games

Chicago Cubs outfielder Jason Heyward is expected to miss at least two games with a right hamstring injury.

Manager Joe Maddon said after Thursday’s win at Atlanta additional tests would be needed to determine the precise length of Heyward’s absence.

Heyward was able to walk off the field in the fifth inning when he failed to make a diving catch on what turned into a triple by Freddie Freeman. Freeman, a teammate of Heyward’s from his days with the Braves, gave Heyward a hug as he walked into the Cubs’ dugout.

Albert Almora Jr. replaced Heyward in center field.

Heyward is batting .275 with seven home runs and 52 RBIs. The Gold Glove outfielder is in the third year of an eight-year, $184 million contract.
