The disturbing incident occurred at 10:45pm on June 28 in the Lake Estates of Rolling Hills development in Davie.

The unidentified prowler was documented opening a side-gate into a backyard and climbing onto a pool heater to stare through a window.

He then crawls his way across the ground, staying low to the floor as he creeps into the screened-in patio.

Briefly taking cover behind a grill, the man slowly slinks his way towards a bedroom door, just feet away from where a woman is walking around inside.

Sitting on his heels, the man pulls his shirt over his head and appears to begin masturbating as he stares into the window where a woman is stood just feet away

‘It’s very creepy and also it is very disturbing that someone would enter someone’s backyard and then in the pool area, you can see in the video, he’s right up against the French doors there looking into the bedroom,’ said Davie police Sgt. Mark Leone.

‘At that point he has his shirt pulled up over his head, most likely to cover his identity, then we see him what appears to be masturbating while he’s looking into the bedroom window.’

The homeowners say they didn’t spot the man lurking in the shadows that night, they discovered what happened later on when they checked back their CCTV footage, having noticed their patio screen door was open.

Police say the couple were stunned and unnerved by what they found on the tape.

‘They recently installed the video camera system. He decided to check that to see what he came up with and that’s when he realized this person was in his backyard, in his pool patio looking into his house,’ Leone told CBS.

Authorities say they’re unsure whether the man had been peeping into any other homes on the evening the video was taken.

Police say they decided to release the video in the hope that someone recognizes his face or mannerisms.

Neighbors say they’re glad the man was caught in the act on video and hope that it helps police apprehend the responsible individual as soon as possible, before he strikes again.

‘That’s why most of us have surveillance cameras, the Ring doorbells. They help to protect a lot of people, where you don’t have eyes, you have eyes,’ one resident told CBS.
