Kanye West ‘POSTPONES’ Donda: With Child album after arch rival Taylor Swift drops surprise music

Kanye West has appeared to postpone the release of his latest album Donda: With Child after Taylor Swift made the surprise announcement she was dropping her new album at midnight.

Taylor, 30, revealed on Thursday she would release her eighth album at midnight, with Kanye’s being scheduled for release on Friday.

The rapper, 43, had taken to Twitter for the past few days to promote his new album but it missed the midnight release on streaming services.

Kanye it yet to confirm if the album has been postponed or if it is scheduled to be released later in the day.

MailOnline has contacted Kanye’s representatives for comment.

Taylor is set to reach number 1 in the charts with the release of her indie pop album Folklore.

The songstress stunned her legion of ‘Swifties’ around the globe when she announced she was set to release her eighth album, consisting of 16 songs penned during lockdown to help her pour out her ‘whims, dreams and fears’.

While fans flooded her with praise for the ‘masterpiece’, critics were equally favourable as early reviews deemed the album ‘near-perfect’.

Meanwhile, Kanye’s fans were furious he didn’t release the album as promised.

Thousands took to Twitter to question the Stronger hitmaker. One wrote: ‘WHERE IS DONDA,@kanyewest?! YOU PROMISED DONDA.’

Another added: ‘Woke up and DONDA still ain’t out not angry just disappointed’.

A third chimed: ‘Donde esta donda? You realized Taylor’s got #1 clinched and you postponing, huh?’.

Meanwhile, Kanye’s 10th studio album is a tribute to his late mother, Donda West, who sadly died 13 years ago.

It doesn’t include his latest single, Wash Us In The Blood, but it will include New Body, which saw him collaborate with Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign.

Kanye previously tweeted a track-list made up of 20 songs, before deleting it and then sharing 12-track list for Donda.

Taylor and Kanye have had a well-publicised feud for more than 11 years.

It all began in 2009 when Taylor accepted the Best Female Video award for You Belong with Me at the MTV Video Awards and Kanye stormed on stage and interrupted her speech.

He said ‘Yo, Taylor, I’m really happy for you and I’mma let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time. One of the best videos of all time!’

While they made several public attempts to patch things up, their rivalry rumbled on over the years and was heightened when he called Taylor a ‘b***h’ in his 2016 single Famous.

Kanye’s wife Kim then got involved as she said ‘National Snake Day’, when the reality star released the recording of Taylor seemingly agreeing to the lyrics.

Last year, Taylor branded the rapper ‘two-faced’ in an interview with Rolling Stone magazine and states she is no longer willing to pretend they are on good terms

She explains ‘Some events took place to cause me to be p***ed off when [Kanye] called me a b***h. That was not just a singular event.

‘Basically, I got really sick of the dynamic between he and I’.

Meanwhile fears have grown over the rapper’s mental health after he launched his election campaign on Sunday, where he revealed the couple had wanted to abort their daughter North, seven, before bursting into tears.

What followed was a series of rambling and since-deleted tweets in which he revealed he had been ‘trying to get divorced’ from Kim and accused her of trying to get him ‘locked up’.

He deleted all of the tweets about his wife and her family soon after posting.

That same day, Kanye’s wife Kim was pictured shooting the family reality show Keeping Up With The Kardashians in Malibu, where she was with sister Khloe and Khloe’s ex-boyfriend Tristan Thompson.

Kim publicly addressed her husband’s bipolar battle with an Instagram statement on Wednesday, explaining ‘her family is powerless.’

Despite his current issues, Kim described her husband as ‘brilliant but complicated.’

‘Those that understand mental illness or even compulsive behavior know that the family is powerless unless the member is a minor,’ she wrote.

‘I understand Kanye is subject to criticism because he is a public figure and his actions at times can cause strong opinions and emotions. He is a brilliant but complicated person who on top of the pressures of being an artist and a black man, who experienced the painful loss of his mother, and has to deal with the pressure and isolation that is heightened by his bi-polar disorder.

‘Those who are close with Kanye know his heart and understand his words some times do not align with his intentions.’

Kim – who shares children North, Saint, Chicago and Pslam with the artist – did not mention Kanye’s divorce comments in her statement.

It comes as insiders say the couple have been considering getting a divorce for weeks prior to his Twitter meltdown.
