Jennifer Lawrence has made a colossal $5.7million loss on her sprawling New York City penthouse as it finally sold for $9.9million after a year on the market.
The Oscar-winning actress, 29, slashed more than $3million off the original price of $15.6million in January, asking for offers of $12million.
Now Variety reports the Silver Linings Playbook star has sold the luxury penthouse suite with panoramic city views for $9.9 million to Lebanese banker Marwan Kheireddine, taking a huge loss.
Jennifer cut the property’s price tag in January to $12million. Back in November, one month after she married Cooke Maroney in Newport, Rhode Island, she listed it at $14,250,000, after having purchased it for $15.6 million in 2016.
The publication states the future owner will have to pay massive common charges of $5,700 a month, alongside taxes, insurance and upkeep which amount to $100,000 a year.
The apartment features three bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms.
According to the listing on the Compass website, the pad stretches across 4,073 square feet and features city views on all sides.
The condominium is located in a swank 30-floor building called The Laurel on East 67th St, with a key lock elevator and a doorman.
Jennifer’s top-flight apartment features eight rooms including a master suite with a dressing room, a screening room and a billiards room.
The penthouse also comes with a 3,000 square-foot two-level outdoor area that offers panoramic views of New York City.
Equipped with a grill and a patio for Jennifer and her guests to relax, the outdoor area is also partly covered in grass adding a garden ambiance.
Outside there is also a mounted TV set – but luckily it is hanging over a fireplace so viewers are prepared for those chilly New York nights.
Indoors, the dining room and lounge are connected, and the penthouse also plays host to a sumptuous marble bathroom.
The master suite is in fact part of an entire bedroom wing of the penthouse that includes two other bedrooms.
Jennifer married art-dealer Cooke, 34, at the Belcourt of Newport in Newport, Rhode Island, in front of celebrity guests including Adele, Cameron Diaz and Emma Stone.
The Hunger Games actress was linked to Cooke after they were introduced by mutual friends and by last February, Jennifer was spotted wearing an engagement ring
‘Well, he’s just the best person I’ve ever met in my whole life. It was a very, very easy decision,’ she told Entertainment Tonight after accepting his proposal.
The couple were seen at the NYC marriage bureau last September.
‘Jennifer and Cooke were at the weddings bureau together on the morning of September 16,’ an insider previously said.
They added: ‘They had a female friend and a photographer with them the entire time. They sat in the couches to the left and were trying to remain unseen.’
