Father uses voice command on his Apple Watch to call 911 after becoming trapped in a car crash

A dad-of-six used voice command on his Apple Watch to call 911 after becoming trapped in a crash which killed two of his children.

Brad Sparks, his seven month pregnant wife Crystal and their six children were all returning from visiting friends in San Antonio, Texas, to their home in San Diego, California, on July 12 when they crashed on a highway in Deming, New Mexico.

The horror smash left 12-year-old Bailey and Landon, 10, dead. A GoFundMe set up to help the family has raised more than $200,000. It details how Brad used his voice command after being suspended when the car rolled over and was left upside down.

It adds: ‘Some of the children were able to release themselves from their seat belts and crawl out and made their way to the side of the road, hoping to find help. But the parents, Brad and Crystal were unable to remove themselves for over an hour.’

Brad, who suffered a fractured face and a broken knee, told CBS8: ‘We’re obviously dealing with the loss of our two kids Bailey, and Landon.

‘So, I have momentary breakdowns, just like anyone else but spiritually I know where they are, so that grounds me and allows me to breathe and keep going.’

His wife Crystal, who was driving, suffered from fatigue before the crash, the Department of Public Safety in New Mexico said. She has a punctured lung, broken ribs, a broken shoulder, and a shattered foot.

Crystal told FaithWire.com: ‘Brad was quick to start checking on the kids — calling out their names. Sadie was able to tell us that she could see Landon outside of the car, but his eyes were closed, but that Bailey was missing.

‘My soul immediately shriveled, but I cried out to God in my spirit, ‘Lord, you know what I want — but Your will be done.’ I never could have imagined saying that in a situation so dark. Thank you, Lord.’

The GoFundMe adds: ‘The couple’s unborn child appears to be healthy and is maintaining a strong heartbeat.’

The couple’s four other children, Cameryn, 13, Sadie, seven, Jackson, five, and Wilson, three, are not thought to have suffered serious injuries.

Pictures from the scene of the crash show the family’s SUV with extensive damage and almost entirely crushed after it veered off the road.

The GoFundMe page adds: ‘As they drove down the pitch-dark highway in the middle of what seemed to be nowhere, a tragedy occurred, and they lost control of their vehicle.
