Bringing Up Bates star Alyssa Bates, 25, announces pregnancy with her FOURTH child

Bringing Up Bates star Alyssa Bates Webster has announced that she is pregnant with her fourth child at age 25.

The reality TV star and her husband John Webster, 30, are already parents to five-year-old Allie Jane, three-year-old Lexi Mae, and two-year-old Zoey Joy — and now they’re expecting baby number for on February 17, 2021.

‘We’re so excited to add one more little one to our family,’ Alyssa wrote on Instagram today. ‘We feel so blessed and thankful to be pregnant again. WE CANNOT WAIT TO BE A FAMILY OF SIX!!!!!’

Alyssa and John married on May 24, 2014, at Salem Baptist Church in Knoxville, Tennessee, and in November of that year she announced that she was expecting for the first time.

Their family has continued to grow.

‘We cannot wait to meet our little one arriving in February,’ they told People. ‘Mommy votes girl and Daddy votes boy … we will soon see which it will be. Either way we are happy and very thankful!’

Alyssa delivered her three other children in a birthing center with no pain medication, and is likely to do the same again this time around.

The Websters also expressed gratitude to be expecting another baby after Alyssa underwent two surgeries for supraventricular tachycardia, a heart condition, last year.

‘After having so many health scares last year and wondering if we would be able to have more children, God gave us a little surprise blessing. One we are grateful for each and every day!’ Alyssa said.

‘After such a tough year of health issues God has been so faithful to us through it all! We are beyond blessed and undeserving of Gods goodness!’ John added.

The couple had first opened up about her heart condition on Instagram last April.

‘For the past several months Alyssa has been having some irregular heart beats and we have been in and out of doctors offices and specialist to find the problem,’ John said. ‘They found that she had superventricular tachycardia (SVT) which can be fixed with an EP (electrophysiology) study procedure.’

While her ablation was successful, the condition returned, and Alyssa needed another six-hour procedure.

‘My doctor said I have won the award for the worst case he’s seen for SVT AVNRT,’ she said at the time. ‘He really thinks he fixed the problem this time (we just won’t know for sure for a few more days) but I am so happy that I might be back to normal soon!’

The second surgery, fortunately, was a success.

Alyssa and John received well wishes on social media from Alyssa’s siblings, including sister Carlin, who wrote: ‘I’m SO pumped. Can’t wait to meet this cutie! I’m voting BOYYY!’

Brother Zach and his wife Whitney wrote: ‘So excited for you all!’

‘Love you and CAN’T WAIT to meet the newest little one,’ added brother Lawson, while sister Josie Bates Balka commented: ‘Yayyyy!!! Sooo excited to meet this little one.’

They were also congratulated on Instagram by several members of the Duggar family of 19 Kids and Counting fame. The two fundamentalist Christian families are close friends.

‘So HAPPY for you!!!!!’ wrote Josh’s wife Anna.

Jill Duggar and Joy Anna — who is best friends with Alyssa’s sister Carlin — also wrote ‘congrats.’

Both Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar and Gil and Kelly Jo Bates have 19 children each — but while in the Duggar family, there is rarely just one Duggar pregnant at a time, in this case Alyssa seems to be the only Bates sibling currently expecting.

But there have already been two Bates babies born this year.

On March 25, Tori Bates Smith, 24, and her husband Bobby welcomed their second child, a son named Kolter Gray.

And on January 31, Carlin, 22, welcomed her first child with husband Evan Stewart: a daughter named Layla Rae Stewart.

In May, Carlin revealed that Layla has a small hole in her heart which has caused breathing issues.

‘Since Layla was born, she has had breathing problems and episodes of turning blue where she can’t catch her breath.’

Things got even more worrisome for the family as Carlin was in the hospital for meningitis when her daughter stayed with her sister Erin.

She explained: ‘When we got a call the next day explaining that [Layla] was having rapid breathing and turning blue, I panicked pretty hard.

‘She was rushed to Children’s Hospital, and I was overcome with fear of the unknown, along with feeling guilty that I couldn’t be there with her. Evan went back and forth from hospital to hospital, checking on us both. I felt so alone’

Physicians said that Layla’s daughters EKG levels weren’t reading right and recommended the infant see a heart specialist.

‘We found out Layla had a small hole in her heart, which might be causing some of the breathing issues. The doctor encouraged us not to worry, because they will keep a close eye on it, and our prayer is that this small hole will close itself, as they often do.

‘Recently, she gave us another scare; she turned white and her O2 levels dropped to 80% Again, I felt like my world was turned upside down as I held her in my arms. I felt so helpless watching her struggle for oxygen.’

Luckily after 10 minutes, Layla’s color returned and oxygen levels went back to normal.

The child has since been on put on medication as the doctor believes the recent health scare ‘could have also been caused by an acid reflux episode.’
