‘Sami Brady is an integral part of our show’s history, and we are elated that she’s coming home again.’

Unlike other daytime soaps which resumed production last month, Days had already filmed enough episodes before the pandemic hit that the series had enough fresh content to last through October.

The actress, who was part of former DOOL power-couple Sami and EJ, took a hiatus from the show in 2014, returning in 2017.

She remained on the show through 2018, and appeared in a handful of episodes last year.

The episodes already in the can for Sweeney will see Sami on the show through September, with the next shoot to continue into October.

Her upcoming storyline ‘will center around family and her recently SORASed daughter Allie Horton [Lindsay Arnold],’ according to show representatives.

SORAS refers to ‘Soap opera rapid aging syndrome’.

Outside of Days Of Our Lives, Alison also portrays Alex McPherson in Hallmark Channel’s TV Movies The Chronicle Mysteries.
