NEW figures have shown that in the last three years, over 2,200 racial incidents have been recorded in Scottish schools.
The details, obtained by the Scottish Liberal Democrats, shows the scale of school incidents recorded.
There have been thousands of racial cases in Scottish schools.
The Coalition for Racial Equality and Rights (CRER) called on the Scottish government to enact compulsory monitoring of discriminatory occurrences, warning that “just the tip of the iceberg” may be the statistics.
The Scottish government was also encouraged to do more to discourage, in the first place, racial events from occurring.
The data, obtained through the rules of Freedom of Information, was collected at the level of local authority.
According to the Lib Dems, West Lothian, Highland and Falkirk councils have not responded to Freedom of Information requests.
