Xbox Series S revealed – Microsoft reveals second cheap new console coming November 10 for £249

MICROSOFT has unveiled a second new Xbox console launching later this year.

The cheaper new Xbox Series S model will cost £249/$299 – and it’ll arrive just in time for Christmas.

That’s significantly cheaper than the £499/$499 price tag on the full-fat Xbox Series X, coming later this year.

However, Microsoft is now hoping to hook buyers on a budget with the Xbox Series S.

Earlier this year, Microsoft unveiled the Xbox Series X.

This next-gen console is due out just before Christmas, and promises stunning 8K graphics.

The Xbox Series S is a disc-free alternative, with players downloading all of their games digitally.

Microsoft’s cheaper model still stands vertically, but looks to be about half the width.

And rather than being all-black like the Series X, the Series S has a white design with a large dark circle on its front.

Sony has already offered up much the same with its new PS5, which comes in non-digital and digital variants.

And Microsoft arguably spearheaded this trend with its all-digital Xbox One S, which came out last year.

Both the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S are due out on November 10.

That’s two weeks before Black Friday, and gives Christmas buyers plenty of time to get one under their tree.

We still don’t know how much the PlayStation 5 will cost, and there’s no exact release date yet either.

But we’d expect Sony to make a PS5 announcement revealing both in the coming weeks, now that Microsoft has gone public.
