Xbox One games might be unlocked on Sony and Philips TVs, saving hundreds of pounds.

A NUMBER OF THE MOST PROMINENT Android TV manufacturers, including Sony and Philips TVs, may soon receive a major upgrade that will allow them to play Xbox games without the need for a costly console.

For decades, playing the latest and greatest games necessitated the purchase of a console that cost several hundred pounds and was connected to your television. Things are about to change, due to Microsoft’s game-changing Game Pass service. Game Pass is a monthly subscription service that gives you access to hundreds of games for a single cost.

If you’re an XGP subscriber and own an Xbox Series X, S, Xbox One, or PC, you’ll be able to get tons of first-party exclusives, such as Halo Infinite and Forza Horizon 5, on day one when the games arrive in 2021.

Thanks to the power of the cloud, the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate tier offers a selection of over 100 games that can be played on Android and iOS smartphones.

And it appears that this feature will soon be available on Android TVs as well. A recent upgrade for Xbox Game Pass appears to set the framework for Android TV functionality, according to XDA Developers.

Reddit user el gonz87 first detected this when he found a banner for Android TV concealed in the APK for the Xbox Game Pass app on the Google Play Store.

“Just extracted the current Game Pass APK updated via Google Play Store from my android tablet and to my surprise it has an Android TV banner incorporated into it,” the Redditor claimed in a post. It appears like Game Pass will be available for Android TV very soon!”

While Microsoft hasn’t confirmed that Game Pass will be available on Android TVs, it’s a foregone conclusion.

Because Android TV is essentially Android, sideloading the Xbox Game Pass app onto Google-powered televisions has always been possible.

It’s possible to sideload onto devices like Chromecast, but it’s not worth it because the layout isn’t optimized for TVs.

However, 9to5Google discovered that side loading the latest Xbox Game Pass APK to a Chromecast device causes it to appear on the streaming device’s home screen.

Despite the fact that the app isn’t listed, this is the case. “Brinkwire News in Condensed Form.”
