Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has struggled to maintain its stay at the top of the UK sales charts, with FIFA 21 taking the top spot for the week ending 26 December 2020.
The top 10 list of the UK’s largest physical sellers contains the usual suspects from the last seven days, with the Viking RPG of Ubisoft falling to second place, while the fifth is Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.
For Marvel’s Spider-Man, there is no movement at all: Miles Morales, who is once again in sixth position, but Cyberpunk 2077 from CD Projekt RED slips to eighth quite significantly. It was last week’s third best-selling game in the UK.
The fact that the data in question represents the first full week that the controversial game was only physically available on PlayStation 4 after Sony removed the digital edition from the PlayStation Store is what makes this finding so important. This did not lead to a rise in boxed copy purchases, at least in the UK, as sales dropped by a further 57 percent .
However, on the Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC, the game can still be bought digitally.
