Some PS5 Owners Are Still Waiting for Their PSVR Camera Adaptor

Sony did right by PlayStation VR owners upgrading to the PlayStation 5, announcing a free camera adaptor that allows you to use the headset on the next-gen console. Unfortunately, the process of actually obtaining the small cable converter has been far from straightforward. While the majority of people requesting the accessory have received it within two weeks or less, others have been waiting over two months now.

There’s a meaty Reddit thread documenting the issue, with some still on tenterhooks after ordering the adaptor all the way back in November. Many of those people even received email confirmation.

This appears to be a problem all around the globe, although anecdotally we are seeing slightly more complaints coming from Australia and USA than Europe.

So, what’s going on? Well, despite the long waits, there are plenty of people in the aforementioned thread who confirm they’ve eventually received the item, so it may just be a case of patience.

This does appear to be a logistics issue above all else, and with coronavirus affecting the efficiency of postal services around the world, that makes sense.

If you are concerned, you could always try contacting PlayStation Support, as they may be able to check the progress of your adaptor request – or even authorise another one. It’s irritating, there’s no doubt about that, but it seems like exercising patience is just about the best you can do for now. Don’t worry, you’ll still be able to play Hitman 3 in virtual reality when your adaptor eventually does arrive.

Have you received your PSVR adaptor yet?
