MILLIONS of Facebook users are without access to Messenger due to an outage on iPhone and Android.

FACEBOOK users all across the world have been unable to use the social media platform, including the massively popular Messenger app for iPhone and Android.

Are you unable to use Messenger on your iPhone or Android device? It’s not just you; millions of Facebook users around the world are having trouble logging in and sending messages using the app. With over one billion users, Messenger is one of the most popular messaging services on the planet. However, due to an ongoing outage that has hit all Facebook-owned properties, including WhatsApp, the photo-sharing social network Instagram, and Facebook Gaming, to name a few, users are unable to access the hugely popular website.

With over two billion users globally, WhatsApp is the most popular messaging program ever created. The Messenger app from Facebook, on the other hand, is a close second. The outage, which was confirmed by parent corporation Facebook, began around 4.50 p.m. BST. Facebook has not stated what caused the global outage or when users might expect to be able to use Messenger again.

A Facebook spokeswoman issued the following statement on Twitter: “We’re aware that some users are having difficulty using our applications and services. We’re working hard to restore normalcy as soon as possible, and we apologize for any trouble this has caused.” This is a story that is currently breaking.
