Just So You Know, You Won’t Be Able to Import Your Save into MLB The Show 21

In most recent years, Sony San Diego has allowed you to pull your save from a previous iteration of MLB The Show into the latest one.

This is a godsend for modes like Franchise, as a full-length baseball season consists of north of 100 games, and these can take months to complete. However, if you’re planning to start a new season in MLB The Show 20 in preparation for MLB The Show 21, we’d recommend reconsidering.

An FAQ page on the series’ official website reveals that there’ll be no year-to-year save options in the latest version of the release. “No, year-to-year saves will not be supported in MLB The Show 21. We don’t have anything to share about the feature’s future, but we’re aware of its popularity in the community.”

It’s perhaps worth noting that the developer has confirmed that save progress will transition between consoles, meaning you could technically start playing on a PlayStation 4 and pick up on an Xbox Series X.

This suggests to us that it will have a solution in place moving forwards, but obviously it means your existing progress is stuck in the current game.
