Is this the farthest Burger King in the world? On a deserted island, Google Maps users discover a ‘fast food joint.’

On Google Maps, internet sleuths have discovered what they claim is the world’s most remote Burger King.

On Reddit, a screen image of the supposed fast food outlet’s location on an island off the coast of Oman in Western Asia was recently uploaded.

On Google Maps, it appears to show satellite images of the uninhabited island with one of the online tool’s trademark red pins smack dab in the middle.

“Burger King” is written next to the red pin, which is used to identify restaurants, cafes, and other locations.

The island in question appears to be desolate, with not even a blade of vegetation on its surface, therefore it appears to be the consequence of a mistake or mishap.

Last week, Reddit user sevenluck77 shared the item with the caption: “A Burger King pin on this apparently lonely island off the coast of Oman.”

In response, a number of forum users speculated that the pin was likely placed there due to an error.

“Google Maps data is telling some Whoppers,” one user said.

“Perhaps a Burger King wrapper that didn’t biodegrade found itself perched there?” joked another.

“Someone is going to land on the island and hope to grab some food there,” said a third user.

It’s the latest in a long line of weird Google Maps discoveries.

The Sun reported last week that a cornfield labyrinth in Arizona had been discovered by eagle-eyed Google Maps users, which some said was planted there by aliens.

When viewed from above, satellite photos of the location on Google’s digital mapping tool show intertwining lines that create a message.

“Healthcare heroes” says the inscription, which is complemented by a heart with a cross in the center flanked by other shapes and patterns.

“Best crop circle I’ve seen in a minute,” one Reddit member joked.

Every year, the Andelin family appears to vary the pattern and message on their five-acre plot of land.

According to one Reddit user, the “healthcare heroes” version is from last year and has now been updated.

“They have a new topic for this year, #forever14, which is mental health awareness and young issues,” they stated.

“On their website, they offer some drone footage. Depending on the service you choose, satellite could be available in a few months.” Check out our iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro reviews for more information.
