SKY BROADBAND DOWN REPORTS ARE ON THE INCREASE, WITH THOUSANDS OF SKY CUSTOMERS REPORTING INTERNET CONNECTION PROBLEMS. Here is the most recent server status.
Hundreds of consumers are experiencing troubles with their internet connection as Sky broadband goes down this evening. Sky down complaints have increased today, according to independent outage monitor Down Detector. Down Detector UK has recorded a peak of roughly 900 reports of Sky down at the time of writing.
The vast majority of people affected (94 percent) are having problems with their Sky internet connection.
According to Down Detector statistics, London, Fulham, and Manchester are among the places experiencing problems with Sky broadband.
As reports of Sky downtime poured in, the official Sky Help Twitter account confirmed that some users may be experiencing service issues this evening. However, this was only for the Brighton and Hove area.
“NEW: Brighton & Hove area,” said the @SkyHelp Twitter account.
“Customers may be unable to use the internet or make or receive phone calls. Keep up to date with the My Sky App and check the status of your service here.”
However, the Sky support account has been responding to individuals who have been having issues in other places tonight.
“We haven’t been aware of any wider broadband issues at the moment,” the @SkyHelp Twitter account said. It could be a local outage in the area that Openreach is in charge of.”
As word of the reported Sky broadband troubles spread, people flocked to Twitter to vent their frustrations.
“Internet has gone down in Crawley, @DowndetectorUK,” one tweeted. It appears like you’re having issues in the southeast! What the hell is going on?!”
“Internet in the TN2 area has been down for an hour and a half, can you tell us what is wrong and an ETA on when it will be fixed?” wrote another.
“@SkyHelpTeam having trouble with my broadband, it abruptly shut off and now the box displays a solid amber light for Internet,” one user remarked. I’ve tried turning it on and off, but it still doesn’t function. “Do you have any suggestions?”
“@SkyHelpTeam Internet down in Selsey?” wrote another. “We are unable to establish a connection here.”
