Well, that’s about it then.
We can’t imagine any of us forgetting 2020 too soon, as much as we wish we could – it was an extremely bad year for every single one of us, and honestly, we’re ready to put it behind us.
The one bright spot in the midst of 12 months of suffering is that Sony smashed it completely, and there couldn’t have been a better moment to peak at a time when we were all trapped at home.
Of course, if we’re just focused on PlayStation, it was a fantastic year, really. We received two Hall of Fame games at the end of the lifetime of the PS4 with The Last of Us: Part II and Ghost of Tsushima, and then the company released a next-gen console that surpassed all our standards in the best possible way.
At launch, titles such as Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Demon’s Souls proved to be true highlights.
Perhaps the Japanese giant could be forgiven for overreaching a little, but the manufacturer promises to have another high-quality year in 2021. Just around the corner, with Horizon Forbidden West and God of War Ragnarok not far away, we have games such as Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart and Returnal. Hopefully, when we write this post again, the world is in a better position, but at least we can count on PlayStation to entertain us individually.
As for us, we stick to our tried and true values: bringing you the latest news, reviews, and thoughts on PlayStation every day. It is business as usual here for us, and we look forward to sharing with you the first year of the PS5 era. Our work will really start next week, but we’d like to wish you all a Happy New Year first – stay safe, smile as much as you can, and let’s go cracking.
