GTA Online may be a multiplayer mode intended to play with friends and strangers, but as part of an earnings call, Take-Two has revealed that 50 per cent of fans who enjoyed the latest Cayo Perico Heist content did so alone.
That’s a staggering statistic, really – it’s the first Grand Theft Auto V update that’s designed to be tackled solo as well as co-operatively.
Take Two said that 50% of those playing the Cayo Perico Heist in Grand Theft Auto Online are playing in single player. It is the first GTA Online DLC that could be played entirely in single player. Company intends to keep delivering single player experiences within its games.— Daniel Ahmad (@ZhugeEX) February 9, 2021
Obviously, there is huge pent-up demand among the Grand Theft Auto fanbase for a new game, and Take-Two has commented that it will continue to deliver “single player experiences”. We assume this means that any future GTA Online updates will be playable solo, which is good news for those looking to enjoy more of Los Santos – especially with a PlayStation 5 port due later this year.
