Even the PM’s “climate spokeswoman” does not drive an electric vehicle! Allegra Stratton is a golf enthusiast.

The Prime Minister’s climate spokesperson, ALLEGRA STRATTON, has criticized the UK’s electric vehicle infrastructure.

Boris Johnson’s climate spokesman stated she drives a diesel Volkswagen Golf that is “third hand.” As a result, she stated, “They’re all treks that I believe would require at least one fairly long stop to charge.”

“Net-zero is the glide path,” she said in an interview with Times Radio. What we need to do more swiftly – the science is clear – is change our carbon emissions production right now so that we can halt global warming by 2030.

She added that when she visits elderly relatives “200,250 miles distant,” she does not want to stop to charge her automobile.

She claims to travel to Scotland, North Wales, the Lake District, and Gloucester to see her family.

As a result, she stated, “They’re all treks that I believe would require at least one fairly long stop to charge.”

She also stated that she did not want to stop a car to charge it because it would cause the journey to be delayed, especially because she had two young children who would otherwise sleep for the duration of the ride.

Ms. Stratton stated, “Using an EV would be considerably more viable if electric charging infrastructure and electric car batteries improved.”

Edmund King, President of the Automobile Association, responded to her remarks by saying, “Even on a rare excursion of over 200 miles, the motorist should stop to take a rest for road safety reasons.”

“So why not combine that with a quick charge that goes from a quarter charge to over 80% in just 20 minutes?”

Ms. Stratton, who lives in London, is not liable to the congestion charge or car tax if she owns an electric vehicle, according to King.

“Now is the best time to go electric,” he continued.

The average electric car is expected to have a range of more than 200 miles before needing to be recharged.

Despite this, Allegra Stratton claimed over the weekend that the government’s objective of achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050 was “too far away.”

It’s Kwik Fits’ Midsommer Madness promotion, which means you can save 10% on your MOT Test with the UK’s #1 MOT tester if you book online.

Stratton went on to say the United Kingdom. “Brinkwire News in Condensed Form.”
