Do you want a new Samsung Galaxy Watch or phone? You might be in for a long wait.

Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy Z Fold 3 foldable smartphones are flying off the shelves, and the company is struggling to keep up.

Are you itching to get your hands on a new foldable phone? You’re not the only one who feels this way! Despite the fact that they won’t be available in the UK until August 27, demand for Samsung’s newest foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy Z Fold 3, has been so strong that the company has already warned of shortages.

Customers who preordered the phones in Germany, France, and the United Kingdom have been receiving emails informing them that their smartphones will be delayed — some by up to a month.

Those who purchased the Galaxy Z Fold 3 in the UK should be unaffected, while orders for the Galaxy Z Flip 3 may not arrive until mid-September rather than late August. In some parts of Europe and the United States, Samsung’s newest smartwatch models, the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic, are also experiencing delays.

The delays come after reports of record-breaking sales for the new gadgets. Since August 11, the devices have been available for pre-order and have been flying off the shelves.

Fans in Samsung’s home country of South Korea have already placed nearly one million pre-orders for the two phones, much outnumbering the 80,000 Galaxy Z Fold 2 phones that were pre-ordered last year.

Sales are expected to be significantly greater throughout the rest of the world. Pre-orders for the two new cellphones have already surpassed sales of all of Samsung’s prior foldables combined, according to the South Korean tech giant.

“We are thankful for the fantastic customer response to our new Galaxy Z Fold3 and Galaxy Z Flip3,” a Samsung spokeswoman said in a statement. Pre-orders for the Z Fold3 and Z Flip3 have already outstripped all sales of Galaxy Z devices in 2021.”

Samsung is on track to meet its target sales of 6–7 million for the two foldable phones, which some said was impossible to achieve.

It’s possible that this is due in part to cost. The new models are marginally less expensive than earlier foldable phones, however they are still not inexpensive.

More people are opting for the smaller Galaxy Z Flip 3 (prices start at £949). “Brinkwire News in Condensed Form.”
