‘Be prepared’: How you pack your car this summer could lead to risky driving.

According to new data, nearly a quarter of drivers admit to being unable to see out the back window when driving due to an overstuffed boot.

Kwik Fit, a car maintenance firm, has set up a ‘BOOT-camp’ to prepare drivers for the impending summer vacation. They discovered that 24% of drivers overpack their vehicles to the point that they can’t see out the back window.

According to their findings, families admit to overpacking their trunks, with 81 percent of drivers only using three-quarters of the space available.

This can greatly raise the risk of driving recklessly, as well as the likelihood of being involved in an accident.

According to the poll, 14% of Britons acknowledged to removing the spare tyre to make room for extra luggage.

One out of every ten people (11%) has been in an automobile accident as a result of overpacking.

Some users have crushed objects in the car (18%) and smashed the back windscreen when closing the boot due to poor packing (seven percent).

One out of every ten families acknowledged to needing an extra automobile to fit all of their belongings.

Some families (13%) have even taken the risk of traveling on vacation with that much stuff packed. They’re required to drive with their boot open.

Over the summer, British families are expected to travel an average of 323 miles each.

Mark ‘Billy’ Billingham, from the TV show SAS: Who Dares Wins, has also teamed up with Kwik Fit to offer his own advice on how to prepare correctly for a staycation.

“During my training, I learnt everything from hand-to-hand combat to building my own shelter and searching for food,” he claimed.

“However, there were two critical factors to consider each time I went on a trip. To begin, make sure your vehicle is in good working order before hitting the road.

“Secondly, it is critical to pack for the journey as well as essentials.
