IT’LL be the turn of a new era when Dominik Mysterio steps inside the WWE ring for the first time on Sunday.
The son of the legendary Rey Mysterio will go up against Seth Rollins at SummerSlam – the second biggest show of the year.
Dominik, 23, is set to follow in the footsteps of his old man who is world-famous for his success wearing his luchador mask.
And although eagerly-anticipated fans will see Dominick’s face in action, it won’t be long before he is wearing a mask too.
Rey revealed how they will eventually incorporate that into his character while adopting the name ‘Prince Mysterio.’
Reported by talkSPORT, he said: “We actually talked about it.
“He definitely has to continue with the Mysterio dynasty. It’s in his genes.
“I think we’re going to incorporate that eventually and create a good story so the fans can understand the rich history behind lucha libre and the masks.”
Dominik added how his character must be introduced properly into the storyline.
He added: “I’ve always wanted to wear a mask mainly because of tradition.
“It’s important to keep that tradition going.
“Now with my face being out there, I think it would just have to be introduced a little bit differently so people understand.
“I definitely want to wear one, but it has to be introduced properly.”
Dominik is out for revenge against Rollins this weekend after being lashed with a kendo stick on Monday Night Raw.
It left him with brutal chest and back injuries with numerous deep cuts.
Dominik will be allowed to use his own kendo stick or other weapons of his choosing against Rollins at the Biggest Party of the Summer.
