Wrestling legend Judy Bagwell has passed away at the age of 78, according to her son Buff, a WCW hero.
JUDY BAGWELL, 78, passed away after a long battle with dementia.
After his debut in the late 1990s, the former WCW personality became a popular figure.
Her son Buff, who hosts the podcast ‘Rebuilding Buff,’ paid a touching tribute to his mother on Twitter.
“It is with a heavy heart that we must announce that the matriarch of the Bagwell family passed away this past Friday,” it said.
“Judy Bagwell had three wonderful children, a wonderful husband, and a lifetime of wonderful memories.
“Thank you to everyone who has inquired about her over the years and prayed for her during her dementia battle.
“Judy Bagwell was 78 years old at the time of her death.
Judy, 1943-2021, rest in peace.”
Messages of condolences poured in, with one fan writing: “Such sad news.
I adored her ICONIC WCW run because she gave us wrestling fans so many great memories.”
“I’m so sorry to hear this,” one person said.
“Our hearts go out to the Bagwells.”
“I was with Buff when he visited her the night before,” Vinny Bucci, Buff’s manager, wrote.
“Thank goodness he was able to see her and say his goodbyes.
Otherwise, he’d be in much worse shape.”
“RIP Judy! Sounded like one of the greatest mothers in the world and someone who would literally do anything for kids,” another fan wrote.
