With Jorge Mendes ‘attempting to orchestrate a transfer escape,’ Manchester United may lose Anthony Martial.

Anthony Martial, the Manchester United striker, is a divisive figure at Old Trafford.

With Jorge Mendes reportedly seeking to broker a deal to Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United may lose Anthony Martial. During his time at Old Trafford, the forward has been hot and cold. In the aftermath of Cristiano Ronaldo’s sensational return, he may struggle to find consistent playing time.

After losing Radamel Falcao and Robin van Persie in the summer transfer window of 2015, Manchester United signed Martial.

And he dominated the Premier League at first, scoring in wins against Liverpool and Southampton.

During his time at United, however, Martial has struggled with consistency.

After scoring 23 goals in the 2019/2020 season, he underperformed last season, scoring just seven goals in all competitions.

With Ronaldo on board, he may find it difficult to get regular game time as he hits his prime years.

And now, according to Spanish outlet MadridistaReal, Mendes is attempting to orchestrate a transfer for Martial to PSG, at a time when Kylian Mbappe’s future is uncertain.

“Ronaldo’s [Ronaldo’s] signing for United was already thwarted by the Portuguese.

“Madrid is still waiting for a response from PSG, and without chips, it expects that Mbappé’s arrival will be difficult.”

Even if such is the case, it is difficult to imagine United releasing Martial.

Although the Frenchman has had his troubles, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer remains optimistic that he can turn his career around and become a valuable asset.

But, more importantly, what role is Martial best suited for?

He’s played as a striker, but with Ronaldo, Mason Greenwood, and Edinson Cavani all capable of leading the line, he might find it difficult to secure a starting spot.

And, despite Jose Mourinho’s preference for him to play on the sides, Martial has always preferred to play centrally.

Meanwhile, Tim Sherwood recently mentioned the Frenchman when discussing players who could leave after Ronaldo’s departure.

“I believe a few players will have to leave,” he stated.

“They need to submit a 25-man team, and there are a few who are.”Brinkwire Summary News”.
