For Saturday’s Champions League Final, Hungarian police will conduct the largest operation Budapest has ever witnessed.
Nearly 4,000 police officers will be present when Arsenal plays Paris Saint-Germain; according to city officials, this is the most cops ever seen on duty at the same moment.
For the evening kickoff at the 67,155-seat Puskas Arena, each club has been given 17,000 tickets, but authorities predict that an additional 10,000 people will travel to the nation’s capital without a ticket.
Motorcycle patrols, dog units, mounted police, and drone operators will accompany regular cops; fans have been cautioned to act appropriately.
The commander of operations, Major General Dr. Jürgen Zoltán Kuczik, declared, “We will take decisive action if we encounter any behavior that disrupts public order.”
Arsenal supporters wait for the players to arrive at the Budapest team hotel.
It is anticipated that 10,000 spectators without tickets would flock to the Hungarian capital on Saturday night.
He continued by saying that for the previous three weeks, the force and UEFA security specialists had been analyzing the behavior of both fan bases.
“Having fans from London and Paris in Budapest at the same time poses a significant risk, but it is our job to minimize that risk,” Mr. Kuczik clarified.
Additionally, our call centers have been strengthened, and employees who speak both French and English are on hand. It is crucial that anyone who may choose to use the capital’s public transit on match day.
Fans from both sides will be transported by bus from the airport to certain locations throughout the city. Marches to the stadium will begin at 3 p.m. and begin at 6 p.m. local time.
For those who were unable to purchase a ticket, the game will be shown in a fan area with large screens.
