West Ham have completed the transfer of Nikola Vlasic and have made a deadline-day decision on Jesse Lingard.

Nikola Vlasic has finalized his transfer to West Ham United from CSKA Moscow.

On deadline day, West Ham announced the signing of Nikola Vlasic, with the club apparently deciding whether or not to pursue Jesse Lingard. On a five-year deal, the Croatian international comes from Russian club CSKA Moscow.

The agreement is said to be valued £25.72 million, with a further £7.7 million in possible add-ons.

Vlasic has a wealth of experience despite being only 23 years old, having participated in over 250 senior matches.

He’s also established on the international stage, having earned 26 caps for Croatia and participating in Euro 2020.

According to West Ham’s website, Vlasic was “extensively scouted” during the summer transfer window.

Vlasic is also characterized as a ‘creative attacker,’ though his new team has yet to announce where he will play.

Vlasic has demonstrated his versatility in front of goal in Russia, where he has played on the right wing as well as in midfield.

Vlasic has shown the same versatility for his country, although starting on the wing for Croatia.

West Ham, on the other hand, appear unlikely to follow Vlasic’s departure by bringing Lingard back to the London Stadium.

Jonathan Shrager, a Manchester United insider, reports that Lingard wants to fight for his place at Old Trafford.

West Ham would not make a last-minute push to recruit the England international, he adds.

Last month, Moyes stated that he would welcome Lingard’s return to West Ham.

“We had a great time with Jesse, but he is a Manchester United player,” Moyes explained.

“The questions aren’t directed at me; they’re directed at Manchester United.

“We’d be interested in getting Jesse if the opportunity occurred, but in my perspective, he’s at Manchester United and it’s not for us to discuss.”

Following the signing of Kurt Zouma at the weekend, West Ham’s summer spending has surpassed £50 million.

Craig Dawson came on a permanent basis from Watford earlier this window, while Alphonse Areole joined on loan from PSG.
