Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp’s side won 3-2 over Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday, and right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold ran into a former Reds player.

Alexander-Arnold has been a lifelong Liverpool fan and was ecstatic when he met Torres, with many speculating that the right-back grew up admiring the former Spanish star.

After a 3-2 victory at the Wanda Metropolitano, Liverpool are top of Group B with nine points from nine games.

With a deflected effort from outside the box, Mohamed Salah put Liverpool ahead inside nine minutes, and Naby Keita doubled their lead with a brilliantly timed volley from distance shortly after.

Seven minutes later, Antoine Griezmann equalized for Atletico, before the Frenchman nestled the ball past Alisson one again to square the scores before halftime.

Griezmann was sent off in the second half for a high foot on Joel Matip, but Salah won it for Liverpool 12 minutes from time from the penalty spot.

Jurgen Klopp’s team will now prepare for their much-anticipated match against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Liverpool are still unbeaten this season and have 18 points in second place in the Premier League rankings.

Chelsea is in first place with 19 points, while United is in sixth place with 14 points.
