Tottenham director Fabio Paratici is in talks with Wolves over a £20 million deal for Adama Traore.

TOTTENHAM’S interest in Wolves winger Adama Traore has resurfaced.

According to reports, Tottenham technical director Fabio Paratici has begun talks with Wolves about signing Adama Traore.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has had a long-standing interest in the Spanish international wideman, whom he hoped to bring to Juventus during his time in Turin.

Last summer, Tottenham was also interested in a deal, but Wolves refused to budge, and the 25-year-old was eventually retained.

But, under Bruno Lage, Adama has failed to fire this season, and his time at Molineux appears to be coming to an end.

The winger has struggled to build on his best season to date, which saw him score six goals and provide 12 assists in all competitions as Wolves advanced to the Europa League quarter-finals.

Spurs are now preparing to strike after Adama and his representatives failed to reach an agreement with Wolves on a new contract.

Tuesday Transfers: Arsenal striker movement, Aubameyang’s problem, Tottenham Hotspur, and Vlahovic

The Telegraph reports that Paratici has begun talks with the Black Country club about a January move.

The news comes amid speculation that Wolves could sell Adama, who has 18 months left on his current contract.

Wolves technical director Scott Sellars confirmed in a statement this week that the club does not expect to bring in any new players this month.

It’s expected that the club will have to sell Adama or Ruben Neves to make room for new signings.

Following the 2-0 Carabao Cup semi-final defeat to Chelsea, Tottenham are keen to add Traore to their squad. Antonio Conte is now determined to strengthen his defense.

Adama will be converted to a wing-back by the Italian, who will take advantage of his lightning speed and dribbling ability.

Spurs have been lacking in this area in recent years, following the sale of Kieran Trippier to Atletico Madrid in 2019.

So far, new signing Emerson Royal has failed to impress, while Matt Doherty has been linked with a return to Wolves.
