The battle between Dereck Chisora and Joseph Parker is a “last chance saloon” for the world title, according to David Haye.
EXCLUSIVE: Dereck Chisora and Joseph Parker are set to fight on Saturday night, according to David Haye.
Dereck Chisora is running out of time to fight for a world title, but British boxing legend David Haye expects pyrotechnics from the 37-year-old against Joseph Parker on Saturday night. Chisora has a successful boxing career and will likely go down in British boxing history as one of the most renowned fighters.
Chisora has been written off numerous times in recent years as he nears the end of his career, but despite a loss, his recent performance against Oleksandr Usyk earned him high accolades and a return to the main event.
Chisora’s next opponent is New Zealand fighter Parker, who is seeking redemption after losing to Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte back-to-back in 2018.
Parker, who is 29 years old, also wants to throw his hat in the ring for a world title fight after losing his WBO title to Joshua just over three years ago.
Parker will be the overwhelming favorite against ‘Del Boy’ on Saturday night at the Manchester Arena, where Katie Taylor, Campbell Hatton, and Chris Eubank Jr will all fight.
Chisora’s manager, Haye, understands that his colleague must be fully aware of Parker’s threat.
Haye, on the other hand, believes Chisora is in good enough shape to upset the Kiwi heavyweight at the weekend.
“All you have to do is look at Dereck’s recent battle to see that he’s regained his vitality.
“He’s out there letting go of his grip. Gone are the days when he’d show up, tuck his chin in, and move ahead without letting go of his hands.
“He realizes this is his final opportunity saloon. He’s fought a lot over the years and he doesn’t want to let himself down, and credit to him for getting in shape early.
“In Joseph Parker, a former world heavyweight champion, he has a youthful, motivated fighter. A man who defeated Andy Ruiz Jr, the man who memorably knocked out Anthony Joshua, for the first time.
“Obviously, he lost his title to Anthony Joshua on points, but for Dereck.”Brinkwire Summary News”.
