Spurs ‘lead the free transfer race for Corentin Tolisso,’ whose contract with Bayern Munich expires at the end of the season.

According to reports, Tottenham are leading the race to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Corentin Tolisso.

The 27-year-old Frenchman’s contract expires at the end of the current season.

The 2018 World Cup winner is unlikely to be given a contract extension after starting just one Bundesliga match this season.

Spurs and Inter Milan were said to be competing for his signature earlier this week.

The North Londoners are now ahead of Inter and Juventus in the race to sign Tolisso, according to Football Italia.

When he left Lyon in 2017, Spurs managing director Fabio Paratici tried to recruit him to Juventus.

He’s still a fan, according to reports.

Inter are said to have held talks with Tolisso’s entourage ahead of a summer transfer, but Tottenham are currently the more likely option.

Tolisso is rumored to be after a weekly salary of around £100,000 per week.

Injury plagued his time at Bayern, and he only made 104 appearances for the Bavarian giants.

Only four of them came in the 2018-19 season, when he was recovering from a cruciate ligament rupture.

This season, Tolisso has had calf issues as well.

Last month’s 5-2 victory over Union Berlin was his only Bundesliga start of the season.

He also started and scored in Bremer SV’s farcical 12-0 DFB Pokal win.

Since Antonio Conte’s arrival, Spurs have been linked with a number of midfielders, including AC Milan’s Franck Kessie and Inter’s Marcelo Brozovic.
