Seven SPFL games have been postponed following pitch inspections

Since their respective playing surfaces failed a turf inspection in the morning, SEVEN games scheduled for Saturday afternoon have been postponed.

The winter weather in the central belt of Scotland has thrown the fixture list into disarray and a number of lower league games have had to be postponed at short notice, but only one Premiership game is in question at the time of writing: the home game of Kilmarnock against St Mirren. At lunchtime, a pitch inspection will take place at Rugby Park.

This morning, both Arbroath’s game against Inverness and Dunfermline’s home game against Fife rival Raith Rovers in the Championship were not inspected.

In League One, including the Dumbarton v Airdrieonians game that was due to take place at the Rock, the derby between Partick Thistle and Clyde was cancelled.

And three games fell prey to conditions in League Four. On Saturday morning, Albion Rovers v Queen’s Park, Brechin City v Elgin City and Cowdenbeath v Edinburgh City were not inspected and the games were consequently terminated.
