Saul’s unexpected motivation for switching to Chelsea on the day of the transfer deadline.

Chelsea’s deadline-day addition has explained why he made the late transfer.

Saul Niguez has disclosed that Kepa Arrizabalaga, a fellow Spaniard, was instrumental in his deadline-day move to Chelsea. Chelsea completed the loan signing of Saul with an option to buy in the late hours of Tuesday, bringing their summer business to a close.

Thomas Tuchel has added two top-class players to his roster ahead of the rest of the season.

In a club-record transfer of £97.5 million, Chelsea welcomed Romelu Lukaku back to Stamford Bridge.

As Tuchel seeks to add to his growing collection of Premier League titles, Saul adds talent and European pedigree to the midfield.

If the 26-year-comments old’s are any indication, Chelsea fans may have Kepa to thank for the late transfer. Kepa’s tenure at Chelsea has not been easy.

After completing his transfer, Saul said that fellow Spaniard Kepa Arrizabalaga influenced his decision to join Chelsea.

“Kepa being at Chelsea was a crucial step in my decision,” he stated.

When Chelsea paid Athletic Bilbao £71.6 million for his services in 2018, the 26-year-old became the world’s most expensive goalkeeper.

But his Blues career has gone exactly as planned, as he now serves as a backup to first-choice goalkeeper Edouard Mendy.

Saul was equally ecstatic about the transfer and emphasized his eagerness to get started in England.

“They are Europe’s Champions. It’s a huge plus for me,” Saul explained.

“It’s unbelievable to my folks. They are Atletico Madrid supporters! It’s a fantastic chance for me, and they’re thrilled for me.

“I’ll give it a shot and see how it goes. Give it everything I’ve got and assist Chelsea so [Tuchel] can see the Saul I want to exhibit. It’s not only that he’s a versatile player.

Saul will arrive at the club over the international break, giving him time to adjust before returning to club duties next week.

The Spaniard has stiff competition for a spot in Tuchel’s squad, with Jorginho, N’Golo Kante, and Mateo Kovacic all vying for two spots.

“The three midfielders who are playing are at a high level, so it will not be simple to play,” he said of the competition. “But if I put my mind to it and work for it, I can get it.”

He adds to Tuchel’s remarkable squad depth, putting Chelsea in a strong position to recover the Premier League. “Brinkwire News in Condensed Form.”
