Ruben Neves to Manchester United: The homework is done, the vital transfer approval has been granted, and the Cristiano Ronaldo element has been considered.
As the 11 p.m. deadline approaches, Ruben Neves remains a Manchester United transfer target.
Manchester United could yet make a midfield signing as the clock ticks down. With rumors circulating about Saul Niguez’s agent and Eduardo Camavinga’s preference for a move to Spain, it’s probable they’ll target Ruben Neves instead. The Wolves midfielder is well-liked at Old Trafford, and his arrival would round off a successful transfer window for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team.
United had done their study on Neves, according to Eurosport’s Dean Jones earlier this month.
Jones noted on The Football Terrace podcast, “He’s realistic, reachable, and quality.”
“That’s why, as I’ve said all summer, I’m not going to rule it out.
“It appears to me that he is a better fit than, say, Camavinga, because he’s already shown himself in the Premier League.
“I’ve heard from a number of individuals at United that they have a lot of knowledge and insight into his game, his stats, and what he’d contribute to the team.
“It’s one that’s already there. I wouldn’t say it’s a foregone conclusion.”

Jones also revealed in July that Bruno Fernandes supports United’s decision to target Neves.
He stated, “That final place will be in midfield.”
“It’s only a matter of figuring out if it’s Ruben Neves or not. Is it a defender or a defensive midfielder? It’ll all depend, and it’ll give us a good idea of Solskjaer’s thinking heading into the season and the style of play we can anticipate from him.
“Does he intend to remain with McTominay and Fred? Or, with a ballplayer like Neves who can come in, will he be more open than that?
“I’ve been assured that the Neves investigation is genuine. While Arsenal has been the most aggressive in trying to get that done, United is still in the running.
“Bruno Fernandes is definitely desperate for Neves to join the club, and the club is well aware of this.”
