Roger Varian reported Royal Ascot winner Daahyeh to be in fine shape as he prepares his unbeaten filly for the Duchess of Cambridge Stakes at Newmarket.
Varian has been pleased with Daahyeh since her victory in the Albany Stakes and sees Friday’s Group Two as ‘the logical race’.
‘She will have a workout tomorrow,’ said Varian.
‘She looks great. You never make commitments in the immediate aftermath of Ascot, because you want to see how they come out of the races, but she has really taken that race in her stride.’
Gabrial, owned by Marwan Koukash, has been retired after a fine career spanning 93 races which saw him earn £838,501 in prize-money.
