TONI KROOS revealed how Real Madrid’s WhatsApp group revelled in Barcelona’s defeat to Bayern Munich.
Los Blancos stars were in communication throughout the Champions League quarter-final as Real’s fierce rivals were pummelled 8-2.
It was the darkest day in the club’s history and came on the back of finishing second behind Real Madrid in the title race.
And there was little sympathy from Real Madrid stars for Barcelona, according to Kroos.
Speaking on his podcast, he said: “One might not show everything, but you can imagine there was no mourning them.
“There was a lot of malicious joy.”
Kroos also admitted it was a similar scenario two years ago when Roma overcame a 4-1 first-leg defeat to knock Barca out of the competition.
The German World Cup winner claimed how “players ran up and down outside his room screaming.”
Kroos’ former club Bayern face Lyon tonight knowing a win would book their spot in Sunday’s Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain.
And the 30-year-old is backing Bayern to go all the way and lift football’s most prestigious trophy for the first time since 2013.
He said: “It looks to me that Bavaria will win and that would be absolutely fine.
“Their results are enough to make Bayern favourites.
“I think Bayern will win. They are the best of the remaining teams. “
