Rangers winger Glenn Middleton is set to join St Johnstone on loan until the end of the season.
The 21-year-old has failed to cement a spot in Steven Gerrard’s starting XI of late and it is understood that the Light Blues are keen to send him out to get some much needed pitch time.
Middleton has caught the eye of Saints boss Callum Davidson and a deal has been agreed between both regarding a loan deal until the end of the season.
The Scotland youth international has spent time on loan at Hibs and Bradford City recently and will now go straight into St Johnstone’s squad to face Aberdeen on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Saints will not be signing former Arsenal youth Charlie Gilmour after his loan period at McDiarmid Park.
The midfielder spent a week training with Saints, but there was no deal left on the table for the youngster despite impressing in training.
