KEMAR ROOFE, the Rangers striker, will miss the next two Premiership fixtures after losing his Scottish FA disciplinary hearing on Wednesday.
The 28-year-old was issued with a Notice of Complaint following his challenge on Murray Davidson during the 1-0 win over St Johnstone last midweek.
Roofe was booked by referee David Munro for the incident and Saints boss Callum Davidson insisted afterwards that there was no ‘malice’ in the tackle.
Rangers presented their case in Roofe’s favour at a hearing on Wednesday but the case has now been confirmed as ‘proved’ as a two-match suspension was confirmed.
Roofe will now miss the Premiership clashes with Kilmarnock and Dundee United as Steven Gerrard’s side close in on the Premiership title this term.
