Rafael Benitez is pushing for a double Real Madrid transfer swoop, and Everton is ‘going wild’.
Rafael Benitez, the Everton manager, is attempting a double Real Madrid transfer swoop.
Everton is reportedly preparing to sign two Real Madrid players in January.
Everton manager Rafa Benitez is reportedly ready to push for the signings of Real Madrid duo Isco and Luka Jovic in the upcoming January transfer window. The Spaniard has enjoyed a fantastic start to life on Merseyside, leading the Toffees to four Premier League victories in their first six games.
Benitez was appointed to replace Carlo Ancelotti, who left Everton for a second spell as Real Madrid manager, in June.
The former Liverpool manager spent less than £2 million in the summer transfer window, with Demarai Gray being his lone high-profile signing.
Before the transfer deadline last month, Andros Townsend, Salomon Rondon, Asmir Begovic, and Andy Lonergan all joined Everton on free transfers.
The Toffees were able to raise £6.3 million in loan fees by loaning Moise Kean to Juventus, while James Rodriguez’s current move to Al-Rayyan was completed for around £7.2 million.
Before the end of the year, Benitez appears to be planning to spend his newly found cash by raiding Ancelotti and Real Madrid for not one, but two players.
Everton chiefs are reportedly ‘going insane’ to sign Isco and Jovic on loan until the end of the season, according to Defensa Central.
The former has made six appearances in La Liga since the start of the season, but has only started twice and is out of contract in the summer.
According to the source, if a loan cannot be arranged, Everton may try to get Isco on a free transfer before next season.
Meanwhile, Jovic is under contract with Real Madrid until 2025, but since joining the club from Eintracht Frankfurt two years ago, he has fallen short of expectations.
Ancelotti rarely plays him in La Liga, with the Serbian forward having just played 31 minutes so far this season.
Jovic has reportedly received a ‘offer to go’ from Real Madrid, and a January move appears to be on the cards.
It remains to be seen whether Everton will be able to sign both players before the end of the season.
Former Arsenal striker Kevin Campbell recently recommended the Toffees to consider it. “Brinkwire News in a Nutshell.”
