After becoming Paris St. Germain’s head coach, Mauricio Pochettino says Tottenham is still in his heart. After signing a deal at the Parc des Princes until the summer of 2022 with the option of a further year, Pochettino was revealed to the Paris press on Tuesday.

Since leaving Tottenham in November 2019, just over five months after leading Spurs to the Champions League final, this is the 48-year-old Argentine’s first task. Paris St. Germain is one of the world’s largest clubs, and Tottenham, too, of course. “Paris St. Germain is one of the biggest clubs in the world and Tottenham, of course, too. ” “It’s difficult to compare because we are in France and Tottenham is an English club. “It’s hard to be rational about Tottenham because it’s all in our hearts and we love Tottenham. It is a friendship that’s never going to end. “We will always think about the club, but I think it’s time now that we don’t compare and focus 100 percent on Paris St. Germain. “With the transfer window now open, a number of high-profile names have already been linked to Pochettino. Like two of his former Tottenham teammates, Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli, Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi is reportedly on his shopping list. Following victory over Dutch club Ajax (Adam Davy/PA), Eriksen’s move to Inter Milan around this time last year did not turn out as well as the Danish playmaker had hoped, despite leading Tottenham to the 2019 Champions League final, while England midfielder Alli got little game time under Pochettino’s Spurs successor, Jose Mourinho. “I think every great player in the world is always welcome at Paris St. Germain,” Pochettino said, “but I don’t have to talk about rumors. The reality is that we have just arrived and we are working hard with the players who are available and the players who need to come back from their injuries. “Leonardo (the sporting director of PSG) is in close touch with us, of course. A club with direct frameworks, Paris St. Germain still holds an eye on a lot of players. It’s an opportunity for me to fulfill a dream by going back to the club where I played 20 years ago. “We are aware that the standards here are very high, since it is one of the world’s largest clubs. “In the past, we have worked with top footballers and being here is a great challenge.”
