Oleksandr Usyk slams Anthony Joshua, while Tyson Fury teases a UFC move.
UFC president Dana White allegedly gave Oleksandr Usyk the chance to fight in the octagon.
Dana White allegedly offered Oleksandr Usyk the option to compete in the UFC, despite the heavyweight boxer’s next battle being postponed due to negotiations. Usyk is the WBO’s mandatory challenger for Anthony Joshua’s heavyweight championship, which he currently holds.
However, Usyk will have to wait for his time to compete for the world title since Joshua just signed a two-fight deal to face Tyson Fury in a sensational unification bout.
Joe Joyce, who defeated Daniel Dubois in November, has been mentioned as a possible opponent for the interim WBO championship.
However, Usyk’s promoter Alexander Krassyuk recently stated that the purse split has stymied negotiations.
“Usyk cannot make any move since there is no certainty around,” Krassyuk told Sky Sports earlier this month. Usyk is in good health, is in good shape, and is working hard. And he’ll fight whoever the WBO legally nominates.
“However, my most recent conversation with Joyce occurred in the middle of January. I spoke with George Warren, who is a member of Joyce’s promotional team. We haven’t gone anywhere since that time.”
“The issue is that because the separation has not been officially announced by the WBO, there is no framework for negotiations.
“The split should be calculated as the average of both competitors’ last three fights. And, to the best of my knowledge, it should be 93 percent in Usyk’s favor.
“The WBO allows a minimum of 80/20. Negotiations make little sense unless the division is officially fixed, as they will not lead to an agreement.”
Now, in an interview with XSport.ua, Usyk has stated that he will not “sit still and wait a year and a half for Joshua and Fury to fight,” and that he could fight for the UFC.
“Recently, Dana White wrote to me asking if I would like to try my hand at the UFC,” he stated. ‘Send an offer, I am ready,’ I said.
“As a result, I have a lot of alternatives for what I can accomplish while I wait for the title battle. I play music, dance, and recently discovered CrossFit, as well as raising children.
“I’m not going to sit here and wait for Joshua for another year and a half.”Brinkwire Summary News”.
