Five players have emerged as the top candidates for football’s most coveted individual award in Sky Bet’s 2026 Ballon d’Or market.
Following yet another outstanding season for Bayern Munich, England captain Harry Kane has opened as the favorite at 9/4.
The elite striker helped Bayern win the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal, and DFL-Supercup with an incredible 61 goals in all competitions.
However, international success could prove crucial, as is sometimes the case with the Ballon d’Or, and the 2026 World Cup is probably going to have a significant impact on the victor.
Kane, who is still aiming for his first significant international prize, will captain an England team that is considered to be among the best in decades.
It remains to be seen if he can lead the Three Lions to their first World Cup victory since 1966.
Odds revealed: Kane leads the star-studded list as Sky Bet launches the 2026 Ballon d’Or market.
With prices of 7/2, 5/1, 7/1, and 8/1, respectively, Ousmane Dembele, Declan Rice, Michael Olise, and Lamine Yamal complete the five market favorites.
Olise, Kane’s teammate at Bayern Munich, was instrumental in the team’s successful season and helped the German powerhouses win numerous titles.
Yamal, meantime, had yet another fantastic season with Barcelona, winning the Supercopa de Espana and La Liga.
While Rice played a key role in Arsenal winning their first league championship in 22 years, reigning Ballon d’Or winner Dembele helped propel Paris Saint-Germain to the Ligue 1 title.
But with PSG and Arsenal scheduled to play in the Champions League final in Budapest this weekend, Dembele and Rice have the chance to further solidify their Ballon d’Or credentials.
The 2026 Ballon d’Or contest is expected to be among the most competitive in recent memory, with voting likely to be influenced by World Cup triumph, European glory, and domestic domination.
