Nuno comments on the Tottenham transfer saga, promising that Spurs fans will ‘love’ his squad.
Nuno Espirito Santo, the new manager of Tottenham Hotspur, had his first press conference since taking over this afternoon…
Nuno Espirito Santo has disclosed that he talks to Fabio Paratici and Steve Hitchen about Tottenham’s transfer ambitions on a “daily” basis. Spurs’ new manager has made it plain that the club is willing to display ambition in the transfer market as they seek to construct a team capable of competing for big titles.
Daniel Levy has ended Spurs’ long wait to pick Jose Mourinho’s successor, and the former Wolves manager has only been in the position for two weeks.
Nuno has always preferred to improve what he has rather than waste money.
Spurs’ roster, on the other hand, is widely acknowledged to be in need of a makeover in key areas.
The club has been connected with a number of players, and Nuno has now confirmed that talks about prospective new arrivals take place on a daily basis at Hotspur Way.
NEWS FLASH: Tottenham has signed four new players. Southampton could agree to a Danny Ings swap.
“We’ve been conversing. Nuno said, “Me, Fabio [Paratici], and Steve [Hitchen].”
“We understand there is a lot of work ahead of us. It takes a lot of effort to enhance the current level of quality. We need to locate the right people for the job.
“We chat on a daily basis. Fabio and Steve are market workers who do their jobs well. “I take care of myself.”
Nuno has promised that after a difficult season last season, Tottenham fans would once again have a team to be proud of.
Spurs were unable to qualify for either the Champions League or the Europa League, and will instead compete in the UEFA Europa Conference League.
Nuno, on the other hand, wants to make sure the club is buzzing with optimism as the new season begins.
He said, “I am here, here is where I want to be, I am so happy.”
“What we want to do is make our supporters proud and our teams love their players; let’s make our fans proud and create a positive environment.
“I have no doubt in my mind that the fans will adore it.”
Spurs are rumored to be close to completing their first summer signing.
With talks between Tottenham and Bologna progressing, Japanese defender Takehiro Tomiyasu appears to be on his way to north London.
More arrivals are expected, with Erik Lamela, Serge Aurier, and Moussa Sissoko among those expected to depart Tottenham.
