Sevilla are willing to let Jules Kounde to join Chelsea before the transfer window closes.
Sevilla’s director of football, Monchi, is apparently waiting for a call from Chelsea in order to complete Jules Kounde’s transfer to Stamford Bridge. The Spaniard, who has also worked at Roma, is now eager to let the 22-year-old to move to west London in order to avoid more disturbance to his squad, should an acceptable offer emerges.
Sevilla are currently attempting to avoid a number of departures from their team, but the sale of Kounde would relieve the club’s financial burden and allow them to bring in some new players.
Chelsea began talks with Sevilla for the midfielder about two weeks ago, but the talks have since been put on hold as the Blues focus their efforts on luring Romelu Lukaku away from Inter Milan, where a record-breaking £97.5 million deal is expected to be finalised.
The European champions are rumored to be interested in a player-plus-cash trade, and have proposed include Kurt Zouma as part of a package.
However, Zouma would love to remain in the Premier League, whereas Sevilla would prefer to get cash.
Man City is reportedly willing to give Tottenham £130 million plus an Arsenal target in order to capture Harry Kane.
While talks have slowed in recent weeks, Chelsea has been encouraged by rumors in Spain that say Sevilla is willing to make a trade if the price is right.
After getting an offer from Manchester City last summer, Sevilla were adamant about not allowing Kounde to depart.
Monchi is now said to be waiting by the phone, with Sevilla willing to negotiate a fee, according to MARCA.
The centre-future back’s is uncertain, thus he is a doubt for this weekend’s La Liga opener against Rayo Vallecano.
DON’T MISS OUT Tottenham have agreed to a £60 million trade for Lautaro Martinez, who has a strong Arsenal bid on the table. Chelsea must decide on their next three moves. Inter Milan has accepted a £97 million bid for Romelu Lukaku. To sign Harry Kane, Manchester City is willing to offer £130 million plus an Arsenal target.
While the club works to determine Kounde’s future, he has spent the majority of preseason on the bench.
Despite interest from Manchester United, City, and Tottenham in the past, Chelsea has a free run on the France international.
Sevilla are reportedly looking for £55 million to £60 million for the ball-playing centre-back.
