Mikel Arteta responds to Thierry Henry’s comments by praising Arsenal’s “legend” Patrick Vieira before of the Palace match.

Ahead of Arsenal’s match against Crystal Palace, MIKEL ARTETA has retaliated against Thierry Henry.

But he spared a word of respect for fellow Gunners icon Patrick Vieira, who will face his former team in the Eagles’ dugout this weekend.

Following their 2-2 draw with Brighton before the international break, former Arsenal striker Henry questioned his former club.

He speculated that Arteta might not be the best candidate for the role.

The Gunners, Henry added, are not heading in the “correct direction.”

Despite Arteta led Arsenal to three successive victories prior to the Brighton match, including a thumping victory against Tottenham Hotspur in the north London derby, the Gunners are still without a win.

But the Spaniard claims he isn’t listening to Henry’s opinions, stating, “No, I haven’t [heard those remarks].” You simply told me about them. It’s just another point of view, so you must respect it.” Arteta, on the other hand, found plenty of time to praise new Palace manager Vieira, who has already made an impression at Selhurst Park.

“Patrick is an Arsenal great, and I hope he receives the recognition he deserves for everything he did for the club, not only as a player but also as a person,” he continued.

“He was the club’s captain during the club’s most successful period in recent years, and it’s terrific to see him back.”

“He has a few years of experience [as a manager]and is well familiar with the league.”

“It’s great to have him back and to welcome him, and to see his figure [return]and what he’s been doing at the club.”

“I believe it is critical to recognize him in the proper manner, and I am confident that this will be the case “,,,,,,,,,, For the most up-to-date news and transfer rumors from The Emirates, visit our Arsenal live blog.
