Marion Bartoli warns Djokovic that he’will have to get a jab’ because of his treatment.

Former Wimbledon champion Marion Bartoli has slammed NOVAK Djokovic’s treatment at the hands of Australian health officials as “really not fair.”

Marion Bartoli was speaking after Novak Djokovic won an appeal against an Australian government decision to deny him a visa ahead of the Australian Open.

Mr. Djokovic is unvaccinated against the coronavirus and was detained in an immigration detention center in Australia after arriving for the tournament on Thursday.

Despite Djokovic claiming to have contracted Covid last month, Australian authorities claimed the tennis player lacked a medical exemption.

“I am pleased for tennis,” Ms Bartoli said on BBC Radio 5 Live, “because I thought and I believe the tennis community, why they spoke about it, the conditions and the way he was traded was really, really not fair at all for him.”

“And I think that was the whole point of what Novak was pleading today, that regardless of whether we are for or against the vaccine, which is a different conversation, I think we should have especially for Novak as the year progresses.”

“Because he’ll have to deal with those issues on multiple occasions.”

“So, in the end, I think he’ll have to get the vaccine,” says the judge. “But for these times in Australia, he got the visa and they flew in with all the best intentions and having done all the work he should have done beforehand to give all the papers and get all the exemptions, and I think that was the whole point of the judge today, Anthony Kelly, just saying he couldn’t have done anything better than what he did.”

“As a result, I believe the decision is reasonable,” she added.

“I sincerely hope the minister does not use such a broad power to dismiss the judge, as you suggest, because that would send the wrong message.

“However, I believe that at the end of the day, Novak will have to find a way to get vaccine because otherwise, he will have to deal with these issues far too frequently for him to be able to relax in peaceful environments and win more grand slams, which is ultimately what he desires.”

On a number of occasions, Mr. Djokovic has spoken out against mandatory vaccinations.
