Manchester United may make a counter-offer in a possible Jesse Lingard trade.

After a successful loan spell with West Ham last season, Manchester United star Jesse Lingard remains a transfer target.

According to rumors, Manchester United may inquire about Declan Rice if West Ham try to buy Jesse Lingard. After bringing in Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has stated that any additional additions at Old Trafford will be a ‘bonus’. Despite this position, the Red Devils are still open to new signings.

Manchester United has made three signings so far this summer in their quest to win the Premier League.

Tom Heaton was the first to arrive, having returned to Old Trafford after being permitted to go for nearly a decade.

United then spent £73 million on Sancho, who had been on the market for four years.

And the Red Devils have snatched Raphael Varane from Real Madrid, announcing the 28-year-old ahead of their 5-1 thrashing of Leeds.

Despite this, they aren’t finished yet.

According to the Telegraph, if West Ham try to sign Lingard, United may inquire about including Rice in a potential swap deal.

Rice is furious at West Ham for asking £100 million for him, a cost that puts him out of reach for both Manchester United and Chelsea.

The 22-year-old is said to believe that he ‘has to improve’ his club career after starring for England at Euro 2020.

United aren’t the only team that admires West Ham’s great player.

Chelsea are also interested, despite Frank Lampard’s refusal to sign Rice last summer.

And Manchester City could make a move if Fernandinho, who is set to become a free agent at the conclusion of the season, leaves the club.

Rice has declined two contract offers from West Ham United, both of which included hefty wage increases.

The Hammers, on the other hand, are adamant that he is not for sale, and only a sum in the region of £100 million can persuade them otherwise.

Meanwhile, former United midfielder Paul Parker encouraged Solskjaer to sign Rice last month.
