Manchester United is reportedly seeking for a £50 million Anthony Martial move. Tottenham, on the other hand, is obstructing the deal.

Last season, Martial struggled to hold onto a starting berth in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side, and the addition of Jadon Sancho has made him surplus to requirements.

Following the arrival of Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund, Anthony Martial’s Manchester United career appears to be coming to an end. Due to injuries and poor form, the Frenchman was unable to establish himself as a regular starter for the Red Devils last season.

Adidas and Manchester United have unveiled their official 2021/22 home jersey, which features a modern take on the club’s traditional designs.

Martial was United’s top scorer in the 2019/2020 season, but he was unable to repeat the feat last season.

With Marcus Rashford as the primary choice on the left wing and Edinson Cavani as the usual striker, Martial was forced to compete for a starting berth with Dan James and Mason Greenwood.

Greenwood, an academy graduate, would go on to make 16 more appearances in all competitions, which he would routinely lose.

That should come as no surprise given Martial’s goal return last season, when the 25-year-old only scored four times in the Premier League.

Despite his £58 million price tag, Martial was clearly not the solution to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s right-wing dilemma.

Instead, the Norwegian went to the transfer market to complete the £72 million transfer of Sancho from Dortmund.

After establishing himself as one of Europe’s top wingers at Dortmund, the England international will immediately take over as first-choice on the right.

Since joining the Black and Yellow from Manchester City, the 21-year-old boasts a remarkable record of 50 goals and 64 assists in 137 appearances in all competitions.

Sancho’s addition will provide Solskjaer with a tantalizing array of attacking options for the coming season.

Martial, on the other hand, is unlikely to be one of those possibilities, according to the Daily Star, who claims the Frenchman is no longer needed at Old Trafford.

United is reportedly trying to sell the 25-year-old “as soon as possible” in order to recuperate the money paid on Sancho.

To help cover the cost, the Red Devils have set a £50 million price tag on Martial, which his suitors are battling to match.

Because Martial was not in Solskjaer’s plans, he was left out of the squad for yesterday’s pre-season friendly loss to QPR.
